Experience an evening of radiant music at the Alexandria Choral Society’s concert, Shine on Us, on Saturday, October 5th. In collaboration with Dr. Joyce Garrett and the Alfred Street Baptist Church Trinity Choir, this invigorating performance explores the theme of light, showcasing music inspired by its luminous beauty. Experience timeless works from Bach and Mendelssohn, alongside contemporary compositions by Howard Helvey and Alexandria’s own B.E. Boykin. Highlights include selections from Bach’s B minor Mass, composed in the same year Alexandria was founded, and the vibrant “Lift Thine Eyes” from Mendelssohn’s Elijah, a cherished piece from our first season. Join us for an unforgettable evening where the glow of music will shine bright and inspire.

 

As a non-profit performing arts organization, ACS strongly believes that financial capacity should never be a barrier to experiencing quality choral programming. That’s why we have proudly adopted a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN pricing model for this concert.

 

Our suggested price for each seat is $30 (all seats are General Admission), but we invite you to pay the amount that is affordable for you - whether that be more or less. When our patrons pay whatever they can, it allows us to bring our music to more people, while remaining financially healthy.
